Maureen ‘Moe’ (L’Italien) Brodeur Memorial Scholarship

The Peabody Education Foundation (PEF) is proud to announce the establishment of the Maureen ‘Moe’ (L’Italien) Brodeur Memorial Scholarship, made possible through a significant gift from her husband, Benoit ‘Ben’ Brodeur. This annual scholarship honors the legacy of Maureen Brodeur, a respected community leader and former office manager at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, known for her lifelong commitment to excellence and service.

The scholarship will award $5,000 each to two graduating seniors from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School (PVMHS). Candidates must demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in business, maintain strong academic standing, and show a proven track record of self-motivation and community engagement.

Applicants for this scholarship must be interested in pursuing a career in the field of business. This scholarship will be awarded to two Peabody Veterans Memorial High School seniors who demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent preparation and organizational skills, active engagement in the community, solid academic standing, and self-motivation. The scholarship will be awarded directly to the recipient upon receipt of a PAID tuition bill or an approved payment plan from the college or university.

Application Checklist:
  • Applicant is a member of the PVMHS 2026 graduating class who is planning to major in the field of business.
  • Each candidate will be required to submit a 250–350-word essay describing “Why community engagement is important for business leaders. How can professionals in business positively impact their local communities, and how do you hope to combine your future career goals with service and civic involvement?”.
  • Each candidate will submit a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher.
  • Applicant submits academic transcript.
  • Applicant submits a list of community service programs or organizations they are involved with, including dates of service.
